Supplier Partnerships Manager
Fill the floor. You find the manufacturers worth putting on our shelves, convince them a US shopfront is worth having, and get them signed.
About the role
Our product is density: the more good suppliers on the floor, the more valuable every other supplier's placement becomes. You own that flywheel.
The pitch is genuinely good and mostly unheard-of, which means the job is more explaining than closing. You will spend a lot of time on video calls at unsociable hours and several weeks a year in Shenzhen, Taipei, Tokyo, Seoul and Stuttgart.
What you'll do
- Build and work a pipeline of component manufacturers across motion, sensing, electronics, mechanical and manufacturing services.
- Run the application review: provenance, category fit, whether the aisle is already crowded.
- Negotiate placement tier, floor position and term; hand over cleanly to the floor team.
- Travel to trade shows and industrial regions in Asia and Europe to recruit exhibitors.
- Own renewals — and be honest with us when a supplier isn't getting value.
- Feed sourcing gaps from the floor back into the recruitment list.
What we're looking for
- You have sold into or bought from industrial manufacturers, and you know what a factory audit, an MOQ and a certification actually mean.
- You are effective on a video call with a Chinese or Taiwanese export sales manager at 7am.
- You can read a catalog and tell a real manufacturer from a trading company.
- You are comfortable with a long, consultative sale to people who have never bought anything like this before.
- You will travel roughly six to eight weeks a year.
Nice to have
- Mandarin, Japanese, Korean or German — genuinely useful here, not decorative.
- Experience at a distributor, EMS, trade-show organiser or sourcing agency.
- An existing network among component manufacturers.
Compensation
$120,000 – $155,000 + commission. The range is real and we will pay within it based on what you bring, not on what you earned before. Early hires also receive equity, explained with the maths shown. Medical, dental and vision are covered for you and your dependants.
The honest caveats
The building opens in 2027. Until then this job involves more planning, recruiting and spreadsheet work than floor work, and the floor work is the fun part. We are a small team, so job descriptions are indicative rather than exhaustive. And it is genuinely on-site — if you need remote flexibility, this role will make you unhappy.
How to apply
Use the form below. A CV or LinkedIn and a few specific lines about why this role. No cover letter theatre, no take-home exercise.
Equal opportunity
We hire on what you can do. We do not discriminate on race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age or veteran status, and we will make reasonable adjustments to the process — just tell us what you need.
