For suppliers

What we're looking for.

SFbei is a permanent showroom, not a marketplace, so the floor plan is a shopping list. These are the 12 product categories we want represented at 1070 Bryant, broken into 181 sub-categories with a note on what a strong display looks like in each. If you make one of these, we want to hear from you.

The short version

If it goes into a
machine, we want it.

Components, sub-systems and the process suppliers who make them. Anywhere in the world, at any volume, as long as you can tell us where it is made.

Three floors and roughly 7,000 square feet is a finite amount of shelf. We are filling it deliberately rather than first-come-first-served, because the value of the building to a visiting engineer is depth in a category: five credible reducer suppliers on one aisle is worth more than fifty unrelated companies spread across three floors.

So this page is the plan. Every category below is one we intend to fill, and every sub-category under it is a specific shelf we would like somebody to own. Some are already spoken for by founding-cohort applicants. Most are wide open.

You do not have to fit a listing exactly. If your product is adjacent to one of these, apply anyway and say which line you are closest to. The categories are a map, not a filter.

The categories

Twelve categories, 181 sub-categories.

Each one opens a page listing exactly what we would like on that shelf, and what a display in that category needs to be useful to a buyer standing in front of it.

What makes a strong application

Four things
we look at.

We review every application by hand and reply either way. These are the things that decide it, in roughly this order.

Provenance

Tell us where the product is actually manufactured. This is the one thing we are strict about, because it is the biggest single reason American procurement teams refuse to buy from an unfamiliar supplier.

Something to touch

A display works when a buyer can pick the part up, mate the connector, feel the detent or watch the cell run. Catalogues on a wall do not convert, and we will push you towards working samples.

Real numbers

Duty-cycle curves, derating at temperature, tolerances held in production, cycle life. Peak figures without conditions are the fastest way to lose a Bay Area engineer's attention.

Reachability

A named engineering contact, their time zone and working language, and a realistic lead time. Your SFbei address and US phone number cover the rest.

Not on the list?

The list is a map,
not a fence.

Semiconductor equipment, lab automation, agricultural machinery, marine, packaging, aerospace fasteners, energy storage: if your product ends up inside somebody else's machine, it belongs in this building even if we have not written a line for it yet.

Apply and tell us what you make. If we get three applications for something that is not on this page, it becomes a category.
