ISO 13485 partners are hard to find cold
Cleanroom molders, biocompatible resin suppliers and validated assemblers exist, but finding them usually means a consultant and six weeks.
Design freeze makes late changes brutal
Once you are in verification, a component change is a revalidation. Choosing the right supplier early is worth more than saving 8% on unit cost.

Five things that make the difference between a pleasant walk around and an afternoon that moves your programme forward.
- Ask every supplier for their quality system and whether they will sign a change-notification agreement.
- Confirm IEC 60601 compliance at the system level, not just the component's own mark.
- Get molding and tooling suppliers in the same conversation — the tool decides the part.
- Ask about lot traceability depth and how long records are retained.
- Use a private supplier room; most of this conversation involves things you don't want overheard.
